Childcare Apprenticeship helps Claudia achieve her goals

Claudia Kidd is eager to develop a career path in child-minding as she continues to thrive in her Childcare Apprenticeship.

Working alongside experienced childminder Sian Hawkes, who has been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, Claudia is making good progress and enjoying her role.

“I’m working all day so I really get to know the children and families that I work with really well.

Claudia works with her employer and a third member of staff to look after twenty children at various times throughout each week, with a maximum of eight children being supervised during a session.

“I enjoy the family environment as there’s a good variety of activities with the children and it’s really rewarding to see them develop and know that I’ve been a part of that.”

Sian Hawkes added: “I have supported the apprenticeship scheme for many years now and I have found it to be both challenging and rewarding.

“It feels good to pass on my many years of experience to the next generation of childcare providers, supporting and nurturing them whilst also helping to support my business.”

Claudia said: “I’m very grateful for the support I receive from College mentor, Annys Bossom.

“I would definitely recommend an Apprenticeship in Childcare as the role develops your professionalism and teamwork skills.”
