Creative Innovators profit from teamwork

A student-run business had a profitable first outing at the Young Enterprise Craft Fair held at Commemoration Hall, Huntingdon, on 5th December, raising more than £100 in sales.

Creative Innovators are a new merchandising business set up and run by a group of learners at Huntingdonshire Regional College with the support of Young Enterprise.

The learners received praise from the Chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses on the gift items they had produced over recent weeks, their understanding of running a business and communication skills.

Dylan Brand, a member of the Creative Innovators team, was given special commendation and a £25 voucher to add to company funds by the Chairman of Young Enterprise for outstanding customer service.

Kaitlinn Fairbairn, Managing Director of Creative Innovators, said: “It was fun to be at the Craft Fair. We all enjoyed the experience and we were delighted to receive the voucher.”

Wendy Baker, a business advisor for Young Enterprise, who is supporting Creative Innovators said: “The way the team has bonded and worked together is amazing in such a short period of time.

“They were fantastic and we are so proud that everyone is playing their part in what is going to be a very successful company. Raising over £100 brought such a smile to all their faces.”
