Emma provides a helping hand for Hunts Forum

The Hunts Forum has recently benefitted from having an extra member of the office team, thanks to Huntingdonshire Regional College.

Emma Tarpey, a Supported Learning student at HRC, completed a six week placement in January and February for the ‘umbrella’ charity which provides support to local voluntary and community organisations.

Trisha Napier, Hunts Forum Centre Manager, said: “Emma was a joy to work with and was willing to try new tasks.

“Although she was initially nervous at coming into a new environment, Emma was confident enough to start producing Briefing Notes and upload them onto our website.

“She even taught me things about producing graphs from spreadsheets.”

Emma went on to design a meeting room timetable, purchase order template and recording form during the weeks that followed.

Emma said: “I really enjoyed working at Hunts Forum.”

Libby Capstick, a Learning Mentor at HRC, said: “Everyone at Hunts Forum for been so supportive and I would like, in particular to thank Trisha Napier.”

Trisha added: “This is a great way to work alongside a young person, allowing them the opportunity to discover their independence and share their knowledge.”
