Health care customer service apprenticeships provide career focus
Three health care Customer Service Apprentices are gaining vital experience and helping ward staff at Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust.
Miriam Bousfield, Katy Randall and Ellerslie Hale began their Apprenticeships last autumn with Huntingdonshire Regional College acting as the training provider.
The apprentices are placed on wards in a role which allows them to experience both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of a hospital environment.
Their duties include a variety of administrative tasks as well as some patient and visitor interaction, care and general support for the ward staff.
Whilst carrying out their role, the Apprentices are all undertaking a Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship with Huntingdonshire Regional College.
Miriam, an apprentice on Apple Tree Ward, said: “I am loving the Apprenticeship. It has really developed my confidence and given me a focus for a career in healthcare.”
Alvina Morey, Widening Participation Officer who supports the apprenticeship programme at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, said: “This is a new Apprenticeship at the hospital and we are very pleased as to how Miriam, Katy and Ellerslie have settled into the hospital and to the daily running of the ward.
“They are proving to be invaluable members of their team.”
