St. Neots Bowmen is a target archery club with a picturesque shooting ground near St. Neots, Cambridgeshire and our own indoor range at Alconbury Weald near Huntingdon. We are affiliated to the Grand National Archery Society—the national governing body for the sport of archery—through the Bedfordshire County Archery Association.

Our members shoot a mix of compound, recurve and traditional English longbows and range from novices to those competing at county level. We have a friendly and active membership with ages ranging from 7 to over 70.

We run beginners’ courses in the summer and both beginners and new members can use the club’s own stock of bows, arrows and other equipment—there is no need to buy equipment if you want to give archery a go.

Throughout the year we organise club shoots 5 days a week as per our calendar. From October 1st till March 31st these shoots are indoors at our range at Alconbury Weald, while from April 1st through to September 30th we shoot outdoors at Offord D’Arcy. Apart from these organised shoots members can practice any day from dawn till dusk from February to December at our outdoor ground, and year round at our indoor range. If space permits we welcome GNAS or FITA members who want to shoot as visitors.

Year round there are open archery tournaments in which a number of our members participate, sometimes with the Bedfordshire county archery squad. Archery is a very inclusive and social sport with archers of all ages, abilities and disabilities shooting side-by-side.

To become a member of St.Neots Bowmen you must first undertake a beginners’ course on which you will be taught to shoot to a safe standard, with understanding of equipment and etiquette. Click here for further details of beginners’ courses.
